KSI commercializes patented technology that converts kerogen, lignite, and other carbonaceous sources into Kerogenate — a carbon feedstock that displaces crude-derived petrochemicals and lowers the carbon intensity of the products made from them.
The company is based in Vernal, Utah, where its pilot plant has demonstrated the process at pilot scale. KSI owns the process technology, the pilot plant, and a bench-scale unit for testing and process modelling.
Experimental research, refining technology commercialization, pilot plant design and scale-up, process engineering, and global operations — the skills needed to take a novel process from the bench to a commercial plant.
